If you’re thinking about selling your home, it's important to have a good understanding of what’s going on in the West Michigan market.

Knowing the most important data such as the average sales price, number of homes sold, and days on market will better prepare you to sell your home.

Our market report showcases everything you need to know about local real estate trends.

    Here are a few takeaways...

    Saugatuck / Douglas

    • Prices were down an average of 38% for the month vs December of 2021, however, average sold price for the year finished up 8% vs 2021.
    • At $372 a square foot average sale price, Saugatuck / Douglas remains one of the strongest markets along the lakeshore in terms of price per square foot.

    Holland

    • Number of pending listings was exactly the same as 2021, and active listings increased significantly by 65%
    • Prices increased 12% for the month in December 2022 vs 2021, and finished 9% higher for the year vs 2021 .

    Grand Haven / Spring Lake

    • Number of new listings for the year was about flat in 2022 vs 2021, and average sale price ended up 8% for the year vs 2021.
    • Number of sold listings was down 21% for December 2022 vs 2021, and number of new listings was also down 14% for the month.

As we start a new year, it's good to see we still have strong pricing and sales for the month, and nice healthy gains in every market for the year.  With many questions about our economy and anxiety about housing numbers, we head into 2023 with solid momentum, despite the increase in interest rates.
